Gluten tag, gluten morgen!

Today I test my adulthood. As I sit in the SFO airport and wait to board my plane to Rome for a three week solo-travel extravaganza, I am totally overwhelmed with an inkling that I should not be allowed to do this. But there's no turning back now!
I am the type of person who loses her glasses when they are on her face, the type of person who is lucky enough to constantly be surrounded by friends, and the type of person who has a hard time living without an agenda. I wanted a challenge. I wanted to be young. And I wanted to travel. So three months ago when I was offered the chance to do a solo backpacking trip across Europe, I eagerly, and naively accepted.
This blog will be a way for me to document, reflect and share my trials, triumphs and inevitable pitfalls of becoming an independent and at times lonesome traveler. I plan to eat a lot, drink a little and see everything. So sit back, put on those ever so fashionable reading glasses-here's to looking at you dad-and enjoy!
